You know it’s something that everyone forgets at least once.
Who hasn’t felt obsessed about it, cried because of it, become frustrated
with it, or loved it at one time or another? As evolved as emotions are in this
sport we all love, I find it important to remember that agility is nothing more
than a game. The world we spend every moment we possibly can in gets
complicated once you reach for the top, switch your career to depend on the
results, and become so involved that every moment lived has almost always
something to do with agility.
Even with school, friends (yes I have them), and like all
that other little annoying stuff, I still feel like every moment of my day is
about agility…which personally is wonderful, mainly because I love agility and
also because it just happens to be the best thing ever created, just saying. Big
things happen in the world where I interact with people my age, and deal with
people who think I’m obviously dumb just because I’m fifteen. But really the
things I get most excited about happen in the dog world, which is why I think it’s
hard to keep the “game” perspective, but I figure either remember that or you’ll
get so over the top that you will basically ruin the sport for yourself.
By the way I got really excited about a few things that just
happened in the dog world this weekend. Nikki and I finished her NAJ, it was a
tough run after a week of no training but we got it! Jenna was wonderful, as
usual, but this weekend we also got really nice contacts just missed the aframe
it was good but not where I want it quite yet. But she was so happy in standard
and her teeter and dog walk were awesome, so I’m not complaining!! Whimzy is almost a year old, her birthday is December
7th and I cannot believe she is already so old!! So big girl
training can finally start this winter…And finally the most exciting news for
me personally, and I guess two other people who will be on my team; Jenna and I
are going to Sweden this summer for the European Open and Diane is taking Demon
too!!!
So excited, I spent
all of Saturday looking up courses for both the EO and WC (as prep for tryouts
this winter and early spring) I found a lot for the one judge but have to
expand my collection for the rest, but I have a few months before we start
picking the sequences apart.
Silly Whimzy asking when she can start earning frequent flyer miles like the other shelties...
Congrats on the NAJ and, of course, going to Sweden!!! good luck, you guys will be awesome!
