Today was much better than Friday. Not all pretty, but
clean. You know it’s been an interesting run when you get to the table and you’re
flailing your arms telling your poor dog how sorry you are. Yeah, so that was
my standard run with Jenna. Plus side of that run being Jenna’s dogwalk, I
asked for a “bottom” and she gave it to me pretty quickly. I’ve never asked for
one before in a show and didn’t train it at all this week; so not too shabby! Jumpers
was a little smoother, but I was so disappointed with our run. Sure it was nice
and clean and relatively fast. But it wasn’t what I walked to the line looking
for. Jenna was wired before we went in the ring, and yet we managed to only
putts around the ring. Perhaps she just isn’t as fit as she needs to be. Looks
like we may be doing a couple dozen hill walks this week!
In other news, Nikki the Doberman finished both her OA and
OAJ with me today! Her standard run was so pretty, she was so focused and
connected. I only screamed “Nikki!” once the whole course, which is saying
something. As her mother says, Nikki likes to space out and her brain is the
final frontier.

ReplyDeleteAs usual, I thought all your runs were fantabulous!!! Jenna looked fine to me, though I guess it's one of those things only the handler could recognize. Nikki has improved a bunch since the last trial as well. Can't wait to see Whimzy added to the bunch!
