Feeling kinda stupid for asking for distance on Jenna’s
contacts yesterday…she was fantastic today, not even a hitch. Do to conflicts and a
messed up schedule I got to run the golden boy. Demon and I got 2nd
in standard and 3rd in jumpers, not bad considering he really didn’t
want to run with me!! He is a bit of a mama’s boy. Ran Nikki too, bad open
standard run. Open jumpers was a different story though, wow is all I can say.
I never thought she would give me such a nice run, she felt truly connected to
me for the first time and I trusted her to read the cues I gave her. Overall an
awesome day, and a good day to end the year on.
Jenna picked up two double Qs and I think between 70-85
points to the 400 we need for nationals. Normally I don’t count points, but
without the multiplier I feel it’s time to pay attention to it. Especially because in May Jenna will be done
competing, so I can focus on Whimzy. Jenna can just train for the EO, sharpen
up our skills, and work towards a peak in July. Speaking of peaks, I think Jenna’s
coming into one!! Figures right, manage to peak her perfectly for the
invitational, but too late to benefit us at the shows. Well at least Diane’s
system works.
Honestly can’t wait for Juniors, should be a great weekend.
Hopefully everyone brings their best game face, which I’m sure they will…we kind
of have kick ass juniors in this country <totally not biased or anything. So
many people to meet in such a short, amazing day! Then on Saturday I go to
work. We have two students running and I want to be there to discuss the
courses with them. Invitational courses typically aren’t easy, should be fun to
watch those two kick butt!
