Nerves!!!! :D

You know that feeling you get before a big competition? Where you’re so excited that your insides almost vibrate with anticipation, while your mind takes on the nerves…fending off doubt and fear. I'm actually really excited to be nervous! Going into a competition especially a bigger one without them would just ruin the whole event!! Maybe only I feel that way, who knows, but the interesting thing is that I feel this way. Up until about 3 days ago I was keeping a pretty cool, calm, relaxed attitude about the whole Junior Nationals. Not in an arrogant way, I expect some serious competition at juniors…we have some kick ass junior handlers in this country. I think it’s more that before the event always seemed so far away, now we are less than a week from leaving! Guess this means the pressure has finally hit! And I know, I’m only against four other dogs and I usually compete against 80 so what’s the big deal? I feel the weight of this competition isn’t so much on the size of the competition, but the idea of representing juniors while keeping the right attitude. Never wanna be the snob who goes in sayin’ “Oh this well be a piece of cake.” I hate those people, if you think it’s that easy then why even compete? There isn’t even any glory in the win because you didn’t try!  Slightly feel like I ramble through that all, kinda did though…ah well.

  1. I so excited too! I just hope the courses aren't annoyingly easy...hopefully Trixie and I will be in the 12" division too, it all depends on how well she crouches while she's getting measured :)

  3. Well this post kind of stole the words right out of my mouth. I totally agree with every word. Up to the beyond excited part. It will be so much fun to meet you and all the other juniors. Oh, and I have to meet Jenna. To bad Whimsy's not going. I would have loved to meet her too.
