New ends tend to also begin...

So today, somethings were finished. Others just getting started. It's really beautiful actually to suddenly see everything you've done, and how you wouldn't change a thing about the past. Or looking at the future and suddenly realizing that everything you could ever dream of doing is possible, not because you have a chance at it. But truly probable, to the point of where you can taste it.

Today was in fact my last day with Kenzie, will I get to run her again....maybe? I hope so. But I officially handed her over to Diane. The last few months have been incredible, that dog is amazing. Fast, scary as hell, and simply wonderful. She is the kind of dog that works with you, highlights your handling, and allows for the most amazing runs. Even if we didn't Q every time or win every class, I'm proud to say we had fun and got the job done when we needed to.  I'm so excited to see her go to ISC Regionals at 26", take on her first Nationals this year in Reno (That we qualified for together), and hell maybe even show up at world team tryouts one day....all with Diane. They will be amazing.

On the flip side, Whimzy has finally convinced me that we will be great one day. I can see it, after today's runs. Like wow. Jumpers at 24 seconds, fastest of all 16" dogs, and just a single bar down. Then standard we finished 3rd by only a second, even with our almost off course to the table. Without losing all that speed and eating a few extra yards, 1st would have been ours I think. But honestly I'm just happy she was listening, and that is where the best part comes in. This wasn't our semi-normal hectic scramble through an excellent course runs. Oh, no, no, no. We are way past that at this point. We are becoming a team. She is reading my cues flawlessly and without even pushing for speed we are cooking along. She has always been amazing, but now I can see where all the work we have put in is going to take us. All those long hours training, the extra daily runs, the core work, and those runs where nothing seemed to go right are starting to pay off.

Whimzy and I will see you all in 2013, at world team tryouts. Did I mention we got our first score today ;)
