Ever notice that as an agility person, your week and weekend pretty much rotate through the same schedule month after month, year after year? How do we do it? The same thing every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday? I was thinking about this tonight as we packed the car for yet another show. And really it sounds almost insane from the outside. But when you look around our world from the inside you notice that its not all the same. Each practice, each trial, each day, they all offer different opportunities for greatness, and ever changing challenges for us to master. I think that is what makes agility so wonderful, its almost never the same thing. Ever actually, which really offers a new dynamic to a sport already so special. We aren't so much handling the course, as we are handling with our eyes on the future. Ready for the next challenge before we get there, ready for something to go wrong before it happens, and ready to an attempt a crowd awing save.
Its an art of expecting the unexpected so that even the unexpected becomes expected.
