While Bazinga has her fair share of annoying, and fairly bizarre habits this particular incident takes the cake. In the past Zing has run up to snakes, toads, pheasants, cats, and other dogs. But tonight, oh no tonight we had to fine the injured bat. I should back up a bit. It was Zing's turn to play so I turned her loose in the dark 10 feet from the barn entrance. The SMART dogs all head right for the door no problem, maybe stop for a quick pee before they get there, but other than that no excursions into the dark at all. What does miss special puppy Bazinga do? Bounce down the drive way into the dark, stops, and a dark shadow jumps up at her. I instantly scream at her to come, instead she just shoots into the barn going "IT MOVED!! AHHH RUN!!" O.O
My first thought, gosh I wonder why the bird didn't fly away. Kathleen, really? It's night time think long and hard. Oh shit. Bat. Not only bat, but bat on ground....that can't fly.... -_-" Rabid? Probably. Dangerous. Most certainly.
Zing was than lassoed, hosed, and sprayed a million times over with a non-toxic cleaning spray. No bite marks, no scratches, no cuts, didn't touch the bat at all. Just being cautious.
So that was Zing's night at class. I swear this puppy has a death wish. Picking up toads, trying to pick up snakes on several occasions, and now visiting an injured bat. It's like living with our own personal Steve Irwin. Look a wild animal, I'm gonna touch it!

She really is a joy and tons of fun to train. Just...special I guess haha.
