Agility's other partnership...

We all put a lot of stock into bonding with our dogs. It's essential, it's wonderful, it's inevitable. The bond between handler and dog, out there on the course is something that should never be severed. The ups, the downs, the preparations, and the celebrations are all done together. As a team, as a unit.

But now I ask, what about human companionship in the agility world. I don't mean having a spouse or significant other that does agility, although they certainly fit this category well. Training partners. Those select few people who see you at your very best and at your very worst. The ones who know you achilles heel, your strongest skills, and help you prep both for everything coming your way. Maybe it's a group of agility friends, a specific trainer, or perhaps you have a built in training partner as your spouse/significant other or a relative. Regardless of who they are, where they are, or how often you get to train, their information always seems like the most valuable.

The bond forged with training partners, in my eyes, is fragile but something worth keeping safe and secure. There aren't many people in the world you can trust to give you the very best feedback they can, to help you no matter where you are, and to solve issues with you just because you two are in the journey of training together.
