Jenna has the week off before we start prep for Sweden in July. Which is shockingly enough VERY close! But the next month will be all about Whimzy!! I know exciting right? hehe! I really really really can't explain how much fun it is to run that dog. Her personality, her speed, her love of the game, her joy it all just rubs off on me. I can't help but have fun training her. I would actually have to work REALLY hard to not have fun running her, even if we do screw up. Which we do...lots...and its always Kathleen's fault. Damn handler needs to learn how to handle!! Maybe then Whimzy wouldn't be stuck in Open forever. Now there is the goal, getting out of Open. First off it means way less conflicts for me. Running all excellent dogs is way easier, for some reason they like to put Open/Novice running with Excellent 24" in the other ring. The dobe needs lots of attention and so does Whim thus begins the never ending race between rings. Its dreadful. But I have high hopes that it will be over soon! I've slowly but surely been working Whimzy on longer and longer sequences, which certainly helps when we hit those 18-20 obstacle open death tra....I mean courses.
And fun fact for the day: Whimzy has many nick names deemed by me and my friends/students including:
- Whim Wham
- Emmy
- Immy Whimmy
- Mz
- Ms. Mz
- Whoopsy
- Whimz
- Big nose
- and a really high pitched "Whimzy!" which causes her to squiggle with excitement and start grunting.
