I’m gonna count this as a Whimzical Update: Winter 2012. Can
I just say, Whimzy amazes me. I am so beyond ecstatic with how far she has
come. Granted we still hit a hole in our training, which I promptly fill! But
really tonight she was on fire! I even layered the weaves. My 13 month old dog
lets me layer the weaves! Can’t explain how cool that feels considering I don’t
even layer the weaves with Jenna…not because I can’t I just never have too
haha. I am also thrilled with her contacts, the speed, the stop, the quick
release, all perfect for me right now. Okay done fawning over my baby, now for
goals! We still have lots to work before March 18th (our first show)
like a “go!” might be helpful on an AKC Novice Jumpers course. Still working
rears, they are looking better and she takes the pressure pretty well now. A
few weeks ago she pushed off every obstacle I rear crossed. Well maybe there
aren’t a TON of things we need before Novice, but other goals need to be met.
Like faster weaves, tighter turns, mastering backsides(I am pushing her wide on
them for now because she is still young) threadles, pull throughs, slice rears,
wraps, post turns, RFPs, rears on contacts, etc. etc. I know pretty complicated
stuff for a young dog, but no worries these are long term training goals. Not
exactly going outside to work threadles or pull throughs any time soon!! Well
maybe with Jenna.
I love my girly <3

I keep meaning to say, I really like your photos! Good to hear Whimzy is doing so well!
