Felt slow today. Jenna really doesn’t MOVE in that building,
the dirt is like concrete and there is no way for her to dig in. Kind of a
bumber to have a really nice run, but no power to keep the time up, but I
suppose life goes on. I can’t make her run faster if she really can’t or doesn’t
feel safe doing so. Perhaps next fall we will venture out of NJ to find
different trail sites…getting sick of being covered in orange dirt all the
time. Another bumber of today was Nikki; she was an astronaut today and went
into deep space. Like really that dog probably has her own space suit, equipped with sound proof headphones! For her first time in Excellent it wasn’t too bad. Considering
where she started only a few shows ago in Novice, it was a pretty damn good
attempt at some harder courses.
I think someone should hit me every time I take
a dog in the ring and say “don’t think”. I swear as soon as I start thinking,
things go downhill. I need to stop judging the runs before I even get half way
through. Sure I know based on our lines what time we are going to get, but
should I REALLY be thinking about the finish line on jump #7? Probably not.
Well I guess that is just one more thing to work before Nationals, which is now
5 weeks away, and Whimzy’s debut is 21 days away o.O
Bad mommy, bad mommy, bad mommy!!!! Forgot to list the accomplishments of the day! Can't focus all on the negative now can we? Jenna got another double Q towards MACH 3, think that is 10 now? And we are up to 200/400 points that we need for AKC Nationals, I think we have our double Qs already. Would also like to note her slowly improving contacts. She has *knock on wood* stopped creeping! Dog walk was very high but she moved right into the zone, and I said "bottom" WAY too soon. So can't blame her. The a-frame was very flowy, I know you can't see it on film...but you trust me right?
