"I want you forever, through the good and the bad and the ugly"
Agility isn't an individual sport. As a team you are committed to your companion, your best friend, your baby, your pride and joy....your dog, the game is for them just as much as it is you. But so many put emphasis on be the best there ever was, climbing the agility ladder. In that case, NQs are costly... mistakes can't happen if you want to be perfect. But fumbles, bobbles, knocked bars, missed zones, handler errors, they will always happen. Agility isn't about being "perfect', it's about being part of a team through the good, the bad, and the ugly, not just when it suits you.
"I was never interested in the score, just the game."
"I was never interested in the score, just the game."
Agility is about the fun, whether it be an NQ, a QQ, a QQQ, a perfect day, you win nationals, or you have the most god awful run of your career. It should still be fun. Setting goals, shooting for the stars, going for the gold, may be part of the journey but they shouldn't be why you are on the journey. Play because you love the game, not the fame.
