Finding New Success.

If you want to succeed you should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success.

Old is known. New is unknown. New things, new paths, new ways have to be discovered. They have to be created. Success is sweetest new; nibbling on the crumbs of someone else’s success is never quite as satisfying.  But new success is hard to find, especially in agility. There are so many great handlers, amazing trainers, teams that are just above and beyond the rest. And yet, following in their footsteps never gets you to the same level.

You can copy all you want; you’ll always be one step behind.

Finding new success isn’t about getting what everyone one else has, but discovering something no one else has found.  The greatest competitors are always taking agility to the next level, showing the world what’s new. They are constantly finding new ways to handle, new things to train, and new, more efficient, ways to train them.

From this I’ve learned one thing. Success isn’t about finding success. Success is about finding something new. If you spend your days chasing down success you’ll never reach it. But if you chose to be different, to try something new, success will come to you.

New hat. New year. New challenges. New Successes.
