Whimzy will be 2 years old on 12/13/12.
This time last year she was just learning how to do the weave poles. She had just started to jump 16". We ran straight lines, pin wheels, and learned about baby rear crosses. In January we ran our first full novice jumpers course in the back yard, and in March we had our Debut in AKC.
NA, NAJ, OA, OAJ, AX, AXJ...the titles didn't fly bye all that fast, but in one year we got them all. We also learned a few things about each other. Like Whimzy, is Ms. Moves-A-Lot on the start line and is not to be trusted during exceptionally long lead outs. Or the fact that Kathleen gets very overly excited when she runs something clean in the yard and will most likely squeak out of excitement...which Whimzy finds rather strange still.
Honestly though, I'm not sure it's about moving through the ranks with Whimzy...I'm just slowly realizing every day how incredible this dog is, she amazes me. In the past year she has matured so much in the ring and in her understanding of agility, I can only look towards the future and imagine the things she will be capable of...now to get the handler there with her! In the mean time, Whimzy will be waving frantically (it being one of her favorite tricks and now past times), gruntishly barking at everyone she meets, and I'll be trying to figure out how to live up to the expectations this dog has set for me.
Happy 2nd Birthday Whimzy, you are incredible.
