You know I find it odd that training alone is sometimes so much fun. It feels so normal to train in a group and class environment, or just with Diane in the back yard. But boy oh boy is it nice to just go out in the back yard alone with a pocket full of cheese and 3 hungry dogs! It is so peaceful to train alone, even with the barking...
Today I worked basically only contacts, with some discrimination work thrown in. Jenna was great, Whimzy was great, and you guessed it Kenzie was great!! Both the big dogs nailed all the discriminations and all the dogs nailed their zones. I'm really loving what Jenna is giving me, hopefully if i bulk up on contact training this weekend and next week we can get some rock solid zones in the trail. They are there I just have to bring them out. Boils down to I think mental management, I must go into the ring every time not trusting her on the contacts. Then I do really weird crap and get crap zones in return. Last weekend in one of my fast runs I ran just like I do in the yard and got beautiful teeters and a really nice a-frame. I need to carry that same attitude into every standard run.
